Atlantic exporters set for world’s largest seafood trade show

Up to 15 companies and organizations will take part in this year’s European Seafood Exposition, scheduled for April 27-30, 2009 in Brussels, Belgium.

 

The Exposition is the largest and most important seafood trade show in the world. Last year’s event drew over 23,000 visitors and over 1,650 exhibitors from 140 countries. Fifteen Atlantic Canada companies participated.

Ocean technology firms attend forum

The Offshore/Onshore Technologies Association of Nova Scotia (OTANS) will lead a delegation of over 100 organizations to the Offshore Technology Conference, April 30-May 8, 2009 in Houston, Texas.

Reputed as the second largest oil and gas trade show and conference in the world, last year’s event attracted over 75,000 delegates.

The IBDA will provide support for networking and marketing activities.

Energy experts to explore export opportunities

The Offshore/Onshore Technologies Association of Nova Scotia (OTANS) will be recruiting up to 10 companies to attend Europe’s largest renewable energy conference and trade show.

The All-Energy Conference is being held May 20-22, 2009 in Aberdeen, Scotland. This year’s key focus will be tidal, wind, wave, biomass and solar energy solutions.

Ports promote Atlantic Gateway in Europe

A delegation of up to 20 representatives from Atlantic Canada’s ports will be in Europe, May 19-28, 2009, to promote this region as the premiere entry point for foreign shipments to North America.

The delegation will highlight the natural and competitive shipping advantages of the Atlantic Gateway’s marine infrastructure during the 4th annual Breakbulk Europe Conference & Exhibition in Antwerp, Belgium.

Prior to the conference, the delegation will raise Atlantic Gateway’s global profile through their participation in a visit to the port of Antwerp, the largest breakbulk port in Europe, and through a series of business-to-business meetings with logistics firms, freight forwarders and exporting companies.

Trade show spotlights Atlantic Canada’s television, film industry

Three provincial agencies will represent Atlantic Canada’s film and television industry at the Locations Trade Show in Santa Monica, California, April 14-16, 2009. The target audience is both the U.S. and international film production communities, with exhibitors that will include both global film commissions and support services that target location filming.

The primary goals of the trade mission will be to attract films to shoot in Atlantic Canada; raise the profile of the region, including the diversity of its locations and quality of its crews; and to identify leads for guest film production.

East Coast Music Association

The East Coast Music Association (ECMA) will continue its mandate to help Atlantic Canadian entertainers succeed on the international stage, by participating in activities outside Atlantic Canada in the coming months.

These events will include: Kerrville Folk Festival (May 21-June 7, 2009 – Kerrville, Texas); North by Northeast Festival (June 17-21, 2009 – Toronto, Ontario); and the Americana Music Festival & Conference (September 16-19, 2009 – Nashville, Tennessee).

In addition, the music industry will be represented at the Atlantic Film Festival (September 17-26, 2009 – Halifax, Nova Scotia).
